The Seahawks did not draft an EDGE rusher this year, and for a lot of fans, that has created real anxiety. The current pass-rush room has talent, but also age questions, short-term contracts, and very little long-term certainty. But what if Seattle did not ignore the position? What if this is actually part of a bigger plan? Today on Seahawks Forever, I make the case that John Schneider and Mike Macdonald may be taking a layered approach to the pass rush: short-term free agent options, possible trade swings, and a much bigger eye toward what could be a loaded 2027 NFL Draft class. Instead of forcing a pick in the wrong class, the Seahawks may be positioning themselves to be aggressive when the board actually matches the need. We’ll break down the current EDGE room, why fans are nervous, what Seattle can still do now, and why the long-term plan may be hiding in plain sight.
